Compressive Through-Focus Imaging

چکیده
Optical imaging applications often suffer from a combination of low resolution images and expensive or bulky sensors. In traditional imaging, images are only acquired in-focus, forgoing use of additional out-of-focus information. We propose a method to increase the quantity of raw data gathered by a limited number of sensors in a way that will simultaneously allow us to make the most of this raw data when Abstract Simulation: Coherent Source Reconstruction

Compressive through-focus wavefield imaging
Optical sensing and imaging applications often suffer from a combination of low resolution object reconstructions and a large number of sensors which, depending on frequency, can be quite expensive or bulky. It is therefore desirable to minimize the number of sensors (which reduces cost) for a given target resolution level (image quality) and permissible total sensor array size (compactness). E...

Two key points of pixel-level multi-focus image fusion are the clarity measure and the pixel coefficients fusion rule. Along with different improvements on these two points, various fusion schemes have been proposed in literatures. However, the traditional clarity measures are not designed for compressive imaging measurements which are maps of source sense with random or likely random measureme...
متن کاملCompressive sensing for through-the-wall radar imaging
Through-the-Wall Radar imaging (TWRI) is emerging as a viable technology for providing high quality imagery of enclosed structures. TWRI makes use of electromagnetic waves to penetrate through building wall materials. Due to the " see " through ability, TWRI has attracted much attention in the last decade and has found a variety of important civilian and military applications. Signal processing...
متن کاملImaging With Nature: Compressive Imaging Using a Multiply Scattering Medium
The recent theory of compressive sensing leverages upon the structure of signals to acquire them with much fewer measurements than was previously thought necessary, and certainly well below the traditional Nyquist-Shannon sampling rate. However, most implementations developed to take advantage of this framework revolve around controlling the measurements with carefully engineered material or ac...

We present a prototype imaging system that utilizes focal and temporal image space modulation to compress high-frequency, volumetric spatiotemporal information into low-framerate, planar images. 24-frame video sequences and extended depth of field reconstructions from single compressive measurements are reported.
